2009 Race Team
Team Intro
Chris Williams, Pro-Am Rider and owner of Williams ATV Performance, first got his start in ATV racing in 2002. He quickly realized that this sport was a passion for him, not just a hobby. Chris raced locally and nationally for several years, winning such championships as ATVA College Class and World Powersports College Class. Being on the road and traveling was interfering with Chris' vision of opening his own ATV performance shop. There are only a handful of these types of shops in Florida. With Florida being home to many ATV motocross riders, Chris saw a need that the knew he could fill. Chris' goal would have to wait a little while longer, when in 2008, Pro ATV rider, Jeremy Lawson , called Chris to ask him to be his full time mechanic on the ATVA/AMA Circuit. Chris worked with Jeremy for about a year before coming back to Florida to once again focus on opening his own performance shop. "I learned a ton from being on the road with Jeremy.: said Williams. "I was part of a team and I wanted to bring that home to my shop and Florida." The rest is history, as described in this book.
The Williams Team made it's debut at the opening round of the 2008 Dade City MX - Sponsor Cup Series. In 2009, the team is benefiting from some of the most sophisticated equipment available to prepare engines and suspensions. From the start, Chris has sought out riders that not only have raw talent, but those who have the heart and the attitude. In professional motorsports, you win with people. Chris Williams and his team have competed in the Sponsor cup for the last two years. Chris won the overall finish in 2008, earning himself the coveted red number "1" plate. Chris has recently clinched the 2009 Sponsor Cup title bringing yet another number "1" plate home to the team.
Jake Gunn also competed in the 2008 rounds and earned a 3rd place podium position in the overall points. After suffering a tragic broken femur mid-season in 2009, Jake is getting stronger each day and working hard at getting back on his quad for the opening round in 2010.
David Brewer and Nick Barnes are the rookie riders for the team and have done a great job this season despite coming into the 2009 rounds about midway through the season.
Samantha Cheetham is a amateur rider with the team in the women's class. Samantha has captured another championship win for the Williams Team, winning the points championship and winining 14 of 17 races.

Race Package - This kit provides maximum horsepower and torque with quicker revving and much improved reliability. Reliability is a major concern with these high revving engines. The first thing that we do is correct all of the obious problems in the head and valve train with stronger materials and increased oil flow. We then get a huge power increase from 4000 rpm to 13000 rpm with precise machinework and the perfect combination of performance parts.
TOP END REBUILD (4 stroke).............................................$199 disassemble top end, inspect gasket surfaces, bore, cams, and valve train, hone cylinder, set ring end gap, clean all parts, reassemble with necessary new parts, set valve clearance
COMPLETE ENGINE REBUILD (4 stroke).........................$400 disassemble engine completely, inspect gasket surfaces, bore, cams, and valve train, hone cylinder, set ring end gaps, remove carbon from exhaust valves exhaust port and head, hone cylinder, wash and inspect all parts including transmission and crankshaft, set valve clearance reassemble engine with necessary new parts
